Supporting the preservation of the Poubara bridge

 

2 400 lianas of 25 meters long each are needed every year to renew the Poubara bridge, in Gabon. First built in 1915, this 3-ton bridge is a gem of the region’s cultural heritage and traditional know-how.

Since 2018, Total Gabon participates in the preservation of this heritage by financing the annual construction costs of the new bridge. The affiliate also participated in equipping the teams present on site by providing IT, maintenance and construction material, with the aim of developing tourism as well as in the production of a promotional film. 2 400 lianas of 25 meters long each are needed every year to renew the Poubara bridge, in Gabon.
