Connected to the rest of the world through fibre optics

In 2010, the Gabonese government and Total Gabon concluded a financing agreement for the installation of a fibre optic cable. They jointly created a diversified fund that will provide two-thirds of the financing for this equipment, while the Gabonese government will provide the rest. Overall, 12,000 km of cables and 387.8 billion CFA francs (€590 M) in investment will provide the Gabonese population with better Internet access.
